Luke 7:36-50  <- Click to read now

This is the passage we focused on during the message yesterday.  If you missed it, I encourage you to listen on our website or on Facebook and find the deeper reflection. For today, I will reiterate one of the most important factors in the rejection we find within this passage.  No matter how much we think we know about someone else, we can get it wrong.

When we focus more on what we know about someone than the potential for God to work in their lives, we miss the mark and we miss an opportunity to be a part of pointing them toward our Savior who will do that amazing work within them.  We also miss the opportunity for God to do an amazing work within us.  Let’s see as Jesus sees; let’s love as Jesus loves.  Again, pop back to my sermon from yesterday for a larger reflection.

Until then, let’s pray.  “Loving God, we know You loved us even before we came to faith in Jesus.  We know You love others, even if they haven’t come to Jesus yet.  Help us see the potential in the situations we think we know, help us to know Your love for others as we extend that same kind of love to them, and help us to trust Your work within them and within us through those encounters.  Amen.
