14th Day of Lent, March 5, 2026Psalm 27:8

This verse teaches us to seek God in times of fear, trust in his timing, and have confidence that He is with you. Life will bring trials, but you are never alone. God is not distant, He listens, cares, and responds to our cries for help. Fear can be overwhelming, but God is our light and salvation.  Light being guidance, clarity and hope. Salvation is Gods power to rescue and redeem. Trusting God means shifting our focus from our problems to His promises.

The setting for this verse has David on his knees in the Tabernacle. He is seeking the presence of God. Early morning.  Psalm 27 was written during a time of personal danger when David was fleeing Saul. To seek his face means to seek Gods favor, guidance, and fellowship. The verse reminds me of a powerful worship song,

Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things on earth will grow strangely dim.
In the Light of his glory and grace!
