This passage shows us that God guides and sustains us through both difficult and prosperous times in our lives.  It tells us to rely on His Word for spiritual nourishment and growth.  40 years in the wilderness: Moses is addressing the Israelites as they head toward the Promised Land. This was words and concepts from Moses to keep the people loyal and moving.  Some pictured it like the garden of Eden.  Specific boundaries are mentioned in Numbers.  Moses speaks with authority and compassion, and reminds them to remember all that the Lord has done for them when facing struggles.
